– 8th February: London (UK)
“We are delighted to take part at this prestigiousshowcase – Mario Piccini, CEO of Tenute Piccini, says – this is an opportunity to share our terroir-driven winemaking approach across the family owned estates. Vulcanic wines coming from the Etna and Vulture volcanos, two rising stars regions in the world atlas of wine, as well as the eternal Brunello di Montalcino.”
For this international and exclusive event, Tenute Piccini will present three flagship wines from three different estates:
– Regio Cantina “DonPà” Aglianico del Vulture 2014
Intense ruby red colour, this is complex wine with a remarkable structure. It shows ripe red fruits notes and elegant tannin. DonPà is the iconic wine of Tenuta Regio Cantina, produced from 100% Aglianico grapes, the emblematic variety dominating the Vulture volcano area.
– Villa al Cortile Brunello di Montalcino 2012
Intense garnet red colour. This wine has a complex bouquet, with flower notes of cyclamen and violet, supported by a wealth of red and black fruit, scents of tobacco, licorice, anise and coffee.
– Torre Mora “Scalunera” Etna 2012
Ruby red in color. Scents of red fruits and cherry, together with violet, menthol and baking spices. Wild cherry and pipe tobacco in the palate framed in velvety tannins and fresh acidity, and followed by a persistent mineral note.
Company profile
The Piccini family lives and works in the heart of Chianti. Under the guidance of Mario Piccini, the fourth generation of the family, Piccini is today one of the most distinctive, dynamic and innovative Italian estates showing among the top 25 largest Italian producers. The family has five stand-alone properties, a parallel project to the successful Piccini brand. The family’s philosophy behind the boutique estates is very classical: producing wines that reflect the region, focusing on expressiveness of the grapes variety in relation to the area of origin.
